((Feel free to assume the video cuts out when she's thrown out of the house.))

I would, but she's only met me the one time; I doubt she'd want to run off with someone who's essentially a stranger to her.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-17 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
You think she'd rather stay locked up by her own father for the rest of her life?

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-17 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if she doesn't like being with her father, it doesn't mean she'll want to abandon her entire world.

I'll ask her, though. I'll find a way to reach her before I go.

Good luck. And be careful, I think there's more to that father of hers than simple worry.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-17 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
What was he working as, when you last met him?

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-17 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He was a doctor for GeneCo.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-17 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
...a surgeon? He had a pretty vice grip on you there, so I'm wondering.

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-18 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. What are you trying to say, Mello?

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-18 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
...nothing, just a hunch.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-19 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
...hard to place. But if I met that guy on the street I wouldn't turn my back on him, and that's not how an average doctor should seem.

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
No, it isn't. I wonder if maybe he snapped when Marni died.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
It's possible. I don't know how she died, but apparently she was still pretty young.

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-21 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
She was young, she was only twenty-two. Marni'd had a blood condition all her life, and when she was eight months pregnant she started hemorraging blood and died.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-21 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Does Nathan have any connection to Rotti?

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-22 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
He works for GeneCo, or at least he did last I heard. And...well, he also stole Marni from Rotti. Marni left Rotti at the altar for him.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-22 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
...and Rotti stood by and just took it?

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
He threw quite a few fits about it when no was looking, but he tried to save face to the press and seem as though he were fine with it. He even attended the wedding.

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, when he throws a fit, usually at least a few of his employees wind up dead as a result. But yes.

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, that's more like it.

...still, has it been proven he had nothing to do with Marni's death?

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I doubt anyone's ever looked into it.

...as much as I dislike Rotti, I don't know if there's any reason to suspect him. Marni really was ill for a long time, and the pregnancy only made it worse. And if he were going to kill one of them, why not kill Nathan instead?

[identity profile] gonnabe1st.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Because it was Marni who left him. Does Rotti strike you as someone who lets go of things, or people, easily?

[identity profile] morethanseeing.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
True. But at the same time, Marni's husband was a doctor; if there'd been foul play, wouldn't he have noticed it?
