It's possible. I don't know how she died, but apparently she was still pretty young.

She was young, she was only twenty-two. Marni'd had a blood condition all her life, and when she was eight months pregnant she started hemorraging blood and died.

Does Nathan have any connection to Rotti?

He works for GeneCo, or at least he did last I heard. And...well, he also stole Marni from Rotti. Marni left Rotti at the altar for him.

...and Rotti stood by and just took it?

He threw quite a few fits about it when no was looking, but he tried to save face to the press and seem as though he were fine with it. He even attended the wedding.

Well, when he throws a fit, usually at least a few of his employees wind up dead as a result. But yes.

...as much as I dislike Rotti, I don't know if there's any reason to suspect him. Marni really was ill for a long time, and the pregnancy only made it worse. And if he were going to kill one of them, why not kill Nathan instead?

Because it was Marni who left him. Does Rotti strike you as someone who lets go of things, or people, easily?

True. But at the same time, Marni's husband was a doctor; if there'd been foul play, wouldn't he have noticed it?

Was he or wasn't he frantic about his wife quite possibly dying? And doesn't Rotti supply a good portion of the population with organs and all things biological?

Yes...but, God, I don't know. I certainly can't prove anything either way, and Marni's been dead for seventeen years now...

I don't want to think that she was murdered, not on top of everything else. But it's not something you could put past Rotti.

I can't prove things any more than you can, I'm just pointing out what I see.

...well. No use trying to figure out more, besides you already know your world is messed up and dangerous.
